As an Chinese American living in the United States, I am told by my friends that my weight is perfect and I'm fine the way I am. But by Chinese standards, I'M OBESE :O but then again every one is like size -5 so thats not saying much... >.>
I took this picture from Sarah's blog and its from Dove. Dove has launched a campaign that mainly focuses on raising the confidence of women and how they view themselves. Living in a society that is on average larger then every other country, we need to feel comfortable in our own skins. Food is just about my best friend and I shouldn't have to worry about what I look like. I am curvy, yes but I'm also tall, 5'9" so the weight is evened out by the height. I used to hate the way I looked because I didn't look like the models that were shown on tv or that I didn't look like the models in pictures when i went out shopping with my mom for clothes. Why should we let others tell us whats right for us if we're comfortable with who we are?
Katy Perry sings about being yourself and not worrying about what others think or say about you. =)
Kathy i told you before and im telling you again...i really like the way you look. yes real women have curves. As long as I get enough exercise im not giving up on fries.
ReplyDeleteI really love seeing this dove campaign on tv. There are so many negative effects of the media on girls self-esteem in today's world that it's no wonder so many teens are affected by depression. It is great to see that Dove, at least, is attempting to break this chain.
