Dont these cookies look amazing? =) I love making cookies and baking and icing and cakes and pudding and FOOD. I might as well should have said food in the beginning. xD So for this problem of gaining weight, especially during the holidays, my first suggestion is, Diabetic Diet!
:D
I personally have some experience because my mommy is pre- diabetic so our house is pretty much anti- carbs. LOL. Its okay since I love my mommy=) Most people would think that if you took out the sugar from your diet, it would just be a salty diet. BUT ITS NOT :D You'll be surprised how much sugar can be found naturally in fruits! Depending on how you make your veggies also allows for natural sugars to be expressed =)

I completely relate! I had to go on a sugar-free diet a few years ago for health reasons and had to give up chocolate, ice cream, etc. Fortunately, I was still allowed to eat fruit because it contained natural sugar =)
ReplyDeleteMy grandpa is diabetic so around Christmas time my family always has some type of sugar-free desserts especially for him. But the rest of us still eat the sugar-free desserts and they actually do not taste that bad; they are pretty good.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I think a lot of times, we forget just how much healthy sugars can be found in fruits and vegetables. Btw, those cookies do look delicious!
ReplyDeleteThis blog is fun because it's all about food which is very relevant in November/December because there are so many holidays that revolve around food. On the other hand, the blog is a little painful since it connects food to unwanted weight gain. On the other hand it's fun again because it suggests that you can eat and ENJOY what you eat even if you have to limit things like the amount of sugar you ingest. Believe it or not there are quite a few bakeries and "ice cream" joints in the city which try to cater to individuals with all kinds of eating restrictions -- wheat and flour allergies, sugar restrictions, dairy restrictions and so on. I've even tried a few of the confections, but usually there's so many people trying to get in, that I've walked on my merry way.
ReplyDeleteI love food as well. One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is the baking that my mom does. It is a fun way to spend time with her.
